The Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC) is a multidisciplinary research institution that aims to develop research in life and health sciences at the highest international level. IBMC is organized in three thematic units: Infection and Immunity, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Neuroscience.

The institute comprises 37 research groups from various scientific backgrounds, including over 200 researchers developing more than 100 projects funded from national and international sources. IBMC maintains a close academic and scientific relationship with the University of Porto and supports graduate training by participating in PhD programs and currently incorporating 120 PhD students in research groups.

IBMC is located at Porto city center, next to one of the three campus of the University of Porto. Within 20 min by car from the city airport, which is also served by underground public transportation to the city center, it has organized numerous scientific events in the past, such as the Aneuploidy and Chromosome Segregation meeting and EMBO Conferences over the last 15 years. It has conference facilities for up to 100 attendees and a fully equipped auditorium, with full-time technical support. This venue will host the reception and evening talks in the first day of the meeting. Due to the necessity of full-time occupation of the auditorium and in order to find a space where interactions between participants are maximized, we have also granted the use of the city Planetarium infrastructure, which is run by the University of Porto Astrophysics Center.

This is a reserved space, with an auditorium with capacity for 75 people, 1 min walking from IBMC and with full autonomy for meals, coffee breaks and plenty of space to have posters always on display during the workshop. Finally, both places are within walking distance from the workshop Hotels and other planned social activities (e.g. gala dinner).
