Critical Art Ensemble
In 1987 five artists of various specialisations formed Critical Art Ensemble (CAE). They explore the intersections between art, technology, politic activism and critical theory.
When entering their website there is a loud speaker. The choice of this object was not by chance, it represents the group’s attitude – talk out loud, make a revolution, announce to the world society’s ailments, challenge authority and order.

MARCHING PLAGUE, Critical Art Ensemble
CAE combine theatre, lectures, dialogue, essays, and various art forms to deliver a message.
In the past few years CAE has committed to what they call the ‘biorevolution’ in global capitalism. Besides some books, as Flesh Machine; Cyborgs, Designer Babies, Eugenic Consciousness (1998), Molecular Invasion (2002), and Marching Plague (2006), they use performance aimed at desmystifying the scientific process, and bring science closer to the public.
