in Liver Transplantation and Hepatocellular Carcinoma 2011

Organ transplantation is one of the most significant challenges for society and medicine in the beginning of our new century, in which most of the fields of biology and medicine are involved, from immunology and organogenesis to surgery and internal medicine. Liver transplantation is one of the most important areas of transplants, because the worldly distributed and large number of hepatic diseases in which it is indicated and the good results that are being obtained.

POINTER, playing attention to all challenges of the century in medical and biological research, decided to focus on liver transplantation in the scientific meeting of this year. The main objective is to present and discuss, in a multidisciplinary approach, all new events coming from most recent basic, translational and clinical research published in this field.

A large number of diseases candidates to liver transplant are associated with hepatocellular carcinoma, which justifies the inclusion of hepatic carcinogenesis in POINTER of this year, also.

Liver Transplantation and Hepatocellular carcinoma, will be the POINT of our meeting.
