When you buy a bottle of red wine, Douro-DOC, Quinta de Remostias, you are giving 1€ to the Rola-Braz Prize to support research in hereditary ataxias, including Machado-Joseph Disease. The Prize will pay a research fellowship for the development of new treatments and diagnose methods on these diseases. The research will be developed at CGPP, IBMC, Porto.

The Rola-Braz Prize was an idea of Ana Rola, the owner of the wine Quinta das Remostias. The prize was created by Ana Rola in honor of a close person with Machado-Joseph Disease, and as a way to give a contribution for the research on hereditary ataxias.
The presentation of the “Rola-Braz Prize” and the launch of the Douro wine “Quinta de Remostias” will take place on the 20 April 2012, 18h00, at IBMC.
