Hélder Maiato awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant

The European Research Council (ERC) has once again acknowledged IBMC researcher Hélder Maiato.

Following a Starting Grant in 2010, Hélder Maiato now sees the continuity of his work ensured thanks to an ERC Consolidator Grant and the 2,3M€ that come with it. Between Hélder Maiato, Mónica Bettencourt-Dias (Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência) and Marina Costa Lobo (Instituto de Ciências Sociais), Portugal draws a total of 5.9M€.

Established in 2013, ERC Consolidator Grants are a funding scheme designed to "support researchers currently in the process of cementing an independent career", and in particular "independent research groups of accredited excellence".
