Health Parliament Portugal

Following the European and British editions, Portugal is now hosting a Health Parliament.
Entirely dedicated to health, the initiative is sponsored by Janssen, Expresso, Microsoft and Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and aims at engaging 60 young citizens (between 21 and 40) from diverse backgrounds in the debate of health policies.

With the ultimate goal of discussing in depth and coming up with solutions for the Portuguese health system, parliament members will work in groups between September and June and approach fundamental issues, such as ethics, mental health and patient participation in decision-making.
As of now, the Health Parliament Portugal has already selected its 60 members, an i3S researcher, Pedro Resende, among them. The project was already formally introduced and training started, too.
