The Kings of Spain visited i3S

The itinerary of a high profile 3-day State Visit to Portugal had the Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia, paying a visit to i3S.

Though a very short stop, the 45-minute visit allowed for Their Royal Highnesses to meet our Board of Directors, as well as representatives of each integrative program. Afterwards, they headed to the Biomaterials for Multistage Drug & Cell Delivery laboratory, where they were shown how the 3D bioprinter works, followed by a quick stop at the Histology and Electron Microscopy Service.

In a whirlwind visit, there was time for questions about the research herein developed, a few greeting from the royals and lot of cheers uttered by the many i3S members curious for a glimpse of the Kings.

This was definitely another high point in the yet very short life of i3S, but more are for sure to come.
