Getting ready for Directive 2010/63/EU

As institutions and individuals in EU Member States are preparing for new legislation regulating animal use in science, the European Commission is providing guidance in the form of consensus documents on how to interpret different points of the Directive. Each of these consensus document addresses a set of specific topics (such as education and training or genetically modified animals) and is the result of the ongoing discussion between the Comission and representatives of the Member States.

Keep your eyes open for new consensus documents being published at http://ec.europa.eu/environment/chemicals/lab_animals/interpretation_en.htm.
