BRAGA, PORTUGAL

Braga is one of the oldest Portuguese cities and one of the oldest Christian cities in the world. It was founded in the Roman times as Bracara Augusta and boasts more than 2,000 years of history as a city.
Known for its concentration of religious architecture, the city is steeped in history, tradition and ancient culture, which merge with a modern-day university-city and a thriving tourist destination.
Braga is actually the third most important city in Portugal, after Lisbon and Oporto, and has one of the youngest populations in Europe.
Situated in the North of Portugal, in the Cávado Valley, Braga has a lot to offer, both in terms of culture and entertainment, including exhibitions, museums, art galleries, cinemas and theatre.

PORTO, PORTUGAL

Porto is Portugal's second largest city and the capital of the Northern region.
Located along the Douro river estuary in northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest European centres. Its settlement dates back many centuries, when it was an outpost of the Roman Empire. Its Latin name, Portus Cale, has been referred to as the origin for the name "Portugal".
Porto’s Historical Centre was registered as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. The city is traditional and historical, but also contemporary, which can be seen in its streets, its monuments and its museus.
Icons such as “Serralves” or “Casa da Música” and a regular agenda of music, art and sports events stand witness to a urban space, in constant movement.
One of Portugal's internationally famous exports is the port wine, produced exclusively in the Douro region and aged in cellars.
