Objetivo / Purpose otf the acquisition:

A escolha do procedimento acima indicado fundamenta-se no facto de o software Huygens ser o único, no mercado, a suportar licenças em servidor e em rede, pelo que a aquisição de uma licença Core para instalação num servidor, permitirá o acesso remoto, por múltiplos utilizadores, via web browser e através da integração com o programa de código aberto Huygens Remote Manager (HRM), à técnica de desconvolução de imagem de microscopia.Atualmente, já existem duas licenças do software Huygens, em utilização no IBMC. No entanto, aquelas são licenças locais, permitindo apenas a utilização do programa diretamente no computador onde as licenças estão instaladas. Acresce que a mudança de software implicaria ministrar formações aos seus utilizadores internos, acarretando custos acrescidos para o IBMC.A empresa a convidar, a SVI – Scientific Volume Imaging B.V., é o único fabricante e distribuidor do Software Huygens, no âmbito do território nacional, detendo igualmente a exclusividade, dos respetivos direitos de propriedade intelectual e da prestação dos respetivos Serviços Oficiais de Suporte e Manutenção dos bens objeto do contrato.//The choice of the above procedure is based on the fact that the Huygens software is the only one in the market to support server and network licenses, so that the acquisition of a Core license for installation on a server will allow remote access, for multiple users, via web browser, and through integration with the open source program Huygens Remote Manager (HRM), to the technique of image deconvolution microscopy.Currently, there are two licenses of the Huygens software, in use in IBMC. However, those are local licenses, allowing only the use of the program directly on the computer where the licenses are installed. In addition, the change of software would imply providing training to its internal users, resulting in increased costs for IBMC.The company to be invited, SVI - Scientific Volume Imaging B.V., is the only manufacturer and distributor of the Huygens software, within the national territory, also holding the exclusive, respective intellectual property rights and the provision of their Official Support Services and Maintenance of the goods object of the contract.
